and so this is christmas

Nick and I had a fun holiday season. It started off by Nick getting a phone call from our friend Tate asking him to be a part of the Heritage Carolers at This is the Place Heritage Park. Nick was really excited to do it, and I think he had a blast being a part of it.

Since I didn't go up to the park every night, I had a lot of fun hanging out with my friend Lolly since her hubby works late nights. We had a lot of fun watching christmas movies, boy meets world, attempting to make sugar cookies etc.
I was also very busy with work. I decided to help out and work at the kiosk for Zupas. The holidays at Zupas=VERY BUSY. Lets just say I am very sick of oreos, and dipping oreos. But working at the kiosk made my paychecks huge, which was nice for the holiday season.
Christmas Eve came up on us very quickly. Nick had to perform with the choir that morning, so I went to breakfast with the Dastrups. What's Christmas Eve morning without good 'ol McD's breakfast?? Nick met us there in his costume and everything... and he got some awesome looks. So Christmas Eve is always fun, cause we get to spend it with both families. We first headed off to the Tidwells to spend a few hours with Nicks family. We had a great time this year, we shared a lot of laughs, and some tears. But it was great to spend time with them. We had Erica and Stan for Christmas this year, and they had our name. We got them a gift card to Olive Garden and a free night of babysitting. And they got us the greatest thing ever. This beauty right here:

I was so excited when I saw it! This describes us perfectly. I can't wait to find a place to hang it up.
Next part of Christmas is my family. We do a name exchange every year. This year there wasn't very many of us cause we do have some family out of state. But we still had a fun time, there is never a dull moment with the Goldys. Nick and I wrapped up our Christmas Eve and headed home. We had the Dastrups with us for the night, which meant little kids for Christmas morning, we were pretty excited for that. Christmas morning came, we all got up at about 8:00, it was so fun to hear the kids when they saw their presents. Brady would say "I can't believe Santa actually got me this!" "a box!" "I have always wanted these!" It was so fun.

After the kids opened their presents, Nick and I opened ours. I got nick a new Utah hoodie, Utah wallet, and a new polo. Nick got me a cake pop maker, a my personal blender, and the Epic Mickey Wii game. After that, we headed over to my parents house for more presents. We all exchanged our gifts, and opened them one at a time. We all got some fun things.

We spent the rest of the day at my parents, eating munchies, watching christmas movies, and playing Just Dance. It was a fun Christmas, and I am glad our families are so close so we can spend time with them.

good morning starbucks

Today is super windy, cold and gloomy. I am crossing my fingers for snow, but we'll see what mother nature brings us.
Nick has to get up early on Saturdays to go to rehearsal for the choir that he is in, so I am up early too. So since I am up early, and it's cold, I definitely felt like a Starbucks run was in order. I feel like I may be becoming a regular at Starbucks. I have 2 very close to me, the one is like 2 minutes away from my house, and I may or may not have gone for the past 3 days and have gotten the same thing. The girl that is always at the register is always so chipper and happy, and it always makes my day better, cause working at Starbucks that early in the morning... I don't know if I would be that happy. But I love Starbucks, and once the holiday season is over I will miss my grande salted caramel hot chocolate and coffee cake, I guess their regular hot chocolate will do, with a shot of caramel ;)
But every time I go to Starbucks, I can't help but think of You've Got Mail and how spot on Tom Hanks is about Starbucks. Just watch here. And here is the infamous quote:
"The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short, tall, light, dark, caf, decaf, low-fat, non-fat, etc. So people who don't know what the hell they're doing or who on earth they are, can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee but an absolutely defining sense of self: Tall! Decaf! Cappuccino!"
It's so true, there are just some people who walk into Starbucks and can't make a decision. And then they order something extravagant. Tall, skinny vanilla latte, soy milk, light, and whatever else they want in their drink. You think how long they are in line for they would be able to make their decision.
But, Starbucks is a wonderful thing, especially in the winter. I love the smell, the atmosphere (great place to do homework) and their delicious bakery items.
So good morning to my lovely grande salted caramel hot chocolate and coffee cake, I think I will go sit in my sweats, cuddled up in a blanket and enjoy my morning.

monday

Today was my first day of doing my daily exercise. I woke up, showered, got ready for work and made me a protein shake. I was a little groggy this morning so I decided it would be best for me to do the work out when I get home from work.
So I got home from work, and got ready for my work out and wow, I am seriously out of shape. I did the push ups and lunges fine... but the planks were actually a bit challenging for me, so I did one set of those and decided to do some crunches instead. I will have to start gaining some more strength so I can do the full set of planks. Guess this is what happens when you sit on your butt for a long time... time to get up and move!

daily exercise

So I have decided that I need to get my lazy bum out of bed in the mornings and exercise. Since it's getting colder I can't really run outside aka I don't like running in the cold and neither does my asthma. So I was on Pinterest one day and decided to make a "getting fit/motivation" pin board. It's been fun to look up different exercise routines, quotes, and I have also found some really good protein smoothie recipes. But I finally found a perfect daily exercise routine that I can do every morning before I get ready for work:

So tomorrow will be my first day starting this exercise routine. I am actually really excited to start doing this and getting up and doing this before work. I think it will help me a lot, and also help me loose a few pounds. I'm going to start drinking more water while I am at work, and drink a protein shake before work instead of skipping breakfast all together. I may invest into one of these beauties:

The Oster My Personal Blender. We don't really have a blender at all so this would be easy to just take on the go. I have the "blender bottles" but those I can't really add fruit in them, all I can use those for is just the protein powder.
It's time for me to take care of my body, and to get back in shape. I'm excited to do this and I am sure I will blog about this along the way, maybe it will help me to start blogging more!

this is halloween!

Well, Halloween came and went to quickly this year! But we had a fun Halloween. We both had to work, Nick was lucky enough to be able to dress up at work! (he probably doesn't think he is so lucky though) But I got off work and did some last minute shopping with the Parkers, and went home and started getting ready. I was so excited to dress up this year, I think Nick and I did really well with our costumes:

Yup, we were Mary Poppins and Bert! It was so fun! When I was at Wal Mart later that night with the girls, one of the workers asked me where my "magical" umbrella was... I'm glad he knew who I was though!
We had a fun night with our friends, we went to my parents house to show off our costumes, and went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner.

Bert (nick) Mary Poppins (me) Buttercup (lolly) Wesley (todd) Spiderman (scott)

Later that night we went back to our house to watch a movie. So over all we had a fun halloween night! And this year since we are living in the Dastrups old house, I had so much fun decorating it:

We also had cute stickers and lights in our window, and we had strobe lights that we turned on too! I loved being able to decorate! Can't wait for the holidays to decorate here too!

Here are some other fun pictures from our halloween! Enjoy!

don't worry, we're still alive!

Well, it has been a while since I have blogged. I need to do better, and I am going to try to! I guess I feel like I haven't had anything interesting to blog about, which I have, so instead of posting a long and lengthy post about our lives the past few months I am just going to make a list.

  • Summer ended, we had lots of fun with family, friends, and had  2 family reunions.
  • Got a new car.
  • Visited the Dastrup fam in Colorado. We had SO much fun!
  • Went to Lagoon with Coca Cola.
  • Went to the Zoo.
  • Never started school, wasn't sure if I wanted to do cosmetology.
  • Went to the fair, saw the rodeo and went country dancing.
  • Had some new pictures taken with Nick.
  • Watched the whole Utah vs. BYU game at Iggys. Nick had 18 diet cokes.
  • Left my job at Coke.
  • Went back to work at Zupas, I am now a catering driver.
  • Took a drive to the Alpine Loop to see the first snow of the season.
  • Went to the walk for autism. Go team Cayden!
And last but not least, we are moving out of our double wide trailer on Saturday. We are moving into the Dastrups old home while they try to sell it. While we are living there we are going to be looking for a house, finally! By that time Nick and I will be pros at moving.
So that's it for now, I will post more about our move when we get settled in, I'll also post about our trip to Colorado, because we had so much fun and got some fun pictures! That's all for now, time to go start packing!
