So Harry Potter comes out next week, the. last. one. I have a feeling I may shed some tears, seriously. Don't judge. I think I was in 4th or 5th grade when I started reading them. In 6th grade that is when they announced the actors for Harry, Ron and Hermione. I was hooked when the movies came out. I went and saw the 2nd Harry Potter movie SEVEN times in the theater. Seven. I kept all my ticket stubs. I had HP posters in my room, calenders, and legos. I had a friend who also shared my HP obsession with me. We found Harry Potter fabric and made PJ boxer shorts out of it, we could quote the second movie with no sweat. Yeah, we were pretty awesome. When I was in High School I worked at some of the Megaplex movie theaters, and whenever a big movie such as HP came out, we could wear apparel from the movie. I worked at the theater when 1 of the HP movies came out, I went and bought a shirt with Ron on it just for work. And as some of the other movies came out I bought 2 more shirts with Ron on them, and I know for this next one I will buy another shirt with Ron on it. Lets just admit it, Ron is awesome. As sad as this sounds HP has been a big part of my childhood, and now that the 7th movie is almost to an end, I feel a chapter of my childhood is "ending." Yes, I know I am no longer a child, but I was only 9 or 10 when I started reading the books. So it is just crazy that it is just... well over. But what's great about books and movies is... I will always have them, to read and watch over and over again. I guess I am more sad that I don't have a good movie/midnight premiere to look forward to, no more Ron shirts for me. (I am sure Nick will be rather pleased, haha)
KSL posted pictures of the HP premiere in London, and can I just say Emma Watson is ever so classy?
Seriously, her hair is so cute, I wish I could pull that off. She is just so... well classy! I love it.
Well now that I have shown my love and geekiness for HP, I am stoked for the movie next week and I can't wait for it! But for now I am off to bed.
Peace.
I share your passion! Oh my heck I am SO SAD it's the last one! Emma's hair is GORGEOUS in that picture. Love her. I might cry too, so don't be embarrassed. I didn't get hooked on the books until I saw the 1st movie- I was "too cool" for Harry Potter and then I saw it and LOVED it! I will definitely miss looking forward to the next one :'(
ReplyDeleteOh Denise. . . you are NOT alone! HP was my LIFE when I was kid. I had NO friends and reading the books became my social life. I remember when the 7th book came out. My mom, my bf at the time, and I went to the midnight event for the book, we came straight home, and the 3 of us started reading. They finished within 24 - 36 hour and I finished 36 - 48 hours later! I cried knowing that I no longer had another book to look forward to, and I know I am going to cry again knowing I have to re-live the ending - AGAIN.
