cakes, cakes, cakes!

I love to decorate cakes, and when my mom asked me to do my Grandmas 85th birthday cake I was quite surprised. Since we had a big party for her, I was for sure we would just order a Costco cake. So I was pretty excited to do this for my Grandma, but I really didn't know what to do to decorate the cake. My mom reminded me that she loves sunflowers, so I sketched out some ideas and finally came up with the design I wanted to do. I decided to make a homemade chocolate "dump cake" and I made a big sheet cake, perfect for a big group. The day came and after my Grandma opened up her time capsule, I showed her the cake. I was thrilled to show her and to see what she thought of it. My Grandma loved it, and it was so special to me to be able to make her the cake! 

It turned out great and I am glad it was more than half gone so I didn't have to take much home, haha! I have pictures of my Grandma and I with the cake, but my mom has the camera and is in Kentucky so those pictures I will have to share with you later.
